Qualitative research on long-acting anti-retroviral therapy

Project aim:   

Document patient and clinician experiences and perspectives on long-acting injectable anti-retroviral therapy (LA ART) to inform programmatic roll-out

Population and Setting:

Phase 3 clinical trial participants and providers across 7 cities in the U.S. and 6 cities in Spain; study sites included large urban hospitals, small rural clinics, and community specialty practices.

Partners:          

Johns Hopkins University Bloomberg School of Public Health, ViiV Healthcare

Services provided:

  • Developed qualitative and quantitative data collection instruments including interview guides and structured surveys

  • Conducted patient and clinician in-depth interviews in the U.S. and Spain

  • Carried out qualitative data analysis of interview transcripts, synthesizing findings across country settings

  • Prepared manuscripts, reports for funders, and presentations of study results
